Hi, I am putting together the Elementary School’s Newsletter. I am a volunteer parent. I want to include the best way to get parents and students to read the information. Can you share any ideas or best practices you may have.?

well, if you could, get the newsletters made up in color. i know that’s more expensive, but if it’s in color, it will look more appealing. use different fonts for different articles and such. also, it might be nice to inform people how things last month went (events and such) with pictures.

Look at this site:
it will give you some ideas:
ALSO: add some ideas about reading together, doing crafts together, doing anything as a family.
ALSO: Have a joke corner. Kids LOVE jokes and will tell their parents them.
Final note: You might consider having a newsletter JUST FOR KIDS and one JUST FOR PARENTS. I know my son brings home the newsletter and never even looks at it, but I do. However he likes to read the jokes.G’luck

You could print it in brighter colors
Different, fun fonts like Curlz and Fiolex Girls
Have a border
Have upcoming events pictures or past event pictures and how much money you raised, etc.

All of the suggestions on here are great so far. I really like a family tip of the month. What about a healthy recipe that the parents and kids could make together? What about a drawing where if they find a specific thing in the newsletter and have it correct they get entered into a quarterly drawing for a small treat or incentive? This would get the kids interested in it for sure. You could ask 5 questions from different parts so you know they at least scanned it to get the answers.
