My husband and I are going on a Mission Trip to Mexico around Christmas. This will be our 3rd trip. It will cost us each $895, for a total of $1790.
Do you know of any fund-raising ideas that we can pull off with very little effort/funds of our own? I’d like to get started as soon as possible. We just purchased a home, we will be moving in about 2 weeks, school just started- I teach 2nd Grade, and I’m starting my Master’s college courses Oct. 4th. We are busy!
Last year we held a bake sale at Church and made about $300. We plan on doing that again. The rest of the money we just got from begging basically, by sending out a newsletter informing family, friends, and co-workers about our mission, what we were going to be doing, and how they could help.
If you have any ideas that would be so helpful. I get tired of just asking people to donate. I know it is for a good cause, but it seems like pulling teeth, especially around Christmas, so if we could start early, it would help

You need to get your entire church behind you. Have your pastor take up a special collection for your trip. I’ve seen special notices of Mission Trips in our weekly bulletin that let us know that we can donate money directly to these Trips and how to do it.
Many other ideas have already been listed…bake sales, car washes, candy/hoagie sales.

My friend was in the AIDS marathon and held a party at a bar. Some bars have package deals for parties. You pay a flat fee for a certain time of drinking. For example, $30 for 3 hours. Then, you can add on another $10 or $20 that the bar will collect (for a total fee of $40, etc) and give you whatever your addition was. It was a great time and a good cause. Call the bars in your area, I know tons in Chicago that will do that.

Fundraising.com has a lot of products that you can either sell directly or do orders from a brochure.
One of the easiest fundraisers they have is Netflix. They send you cards with codes on them, and you pass them out to anyone you think will support you. For every person you get to sign up with your code and pay for a month of Netflix, you’ll get $10.

*How about a yard sale before you move.
*Maybe ask the parents of your pupils to bring in baked goods and sell them at the school during lunch time.
*Are there any businesses in your area that will make a donation (maybe classify it as a sponsorship?).
*Tell everyone that if they want to get you something for Christmas, to make a donation for your cause.
*If it snows a lot where you are located, you could shovel sidewalks for a couple bucks……..
**One thing that helped our organization was that we made arrangements with a couple of the gas stations in town and we were able to solicit people when they arrived at the pump to ask them if they wanted us to pump their gas. This was by far our biggest money maker.
Just ideas………Good Luck and God Bless.

Find a nice item donated or worth of decent value everyone involved has so many tickets to sell , Winner notified by phone doesn’t matter if they belong to church or not that away. You have school connections, work connections…so do the others.
Keep tickets in purse. Homemade Quilt…whatever goes good in your area, a collectors item… easy. Sell while at work or school.
Most women in the church quilt, do crafts… even plan a dinner so much a plate announce winner at dinner. Can have more than one item to raffle. Offer cool door prize given at dinner. Use imagination. Raffle the easiest if nothing else. Good Luck:-)
PS put in clause: anymonies over need rolls over for next years trip, holiday gifts for poor…sell all you can and use for what the church needs the most:-) Some might by for the trip some might buy because left over money goes to the church.

Try G2Bay. This is a social networking site where people help each other make and save money. People post their photos, blogs, news, product and service reviews and talk about the stocks they own. Every user gets a Million Dollar Page where advertisers pay to find the right customers. The more hits you get on your page, the more money advertisers will give you. You can specify why you need the money and people can either donate it or buy ads on your Million Dollar page.
